Château du Plessis-Anjou
30 kms north of Angers, the château du Plessis was built in the 16th and 18th centuries on medieval foundations and surrounded by a romantic park with hundred year old trees.
Except during the revolution when it was confiscated as National Property because the owners and their servants had joined the Chouannerie, the Castle has been in the same family for 300 years. It was restored to the family after Napoleon's Imperial Law of Amnesty.
